While some cheating husbands and boyfriends repeatedly cheat on their mates, others never cheat again.
Tiger Woods is one of those men – despite the fact that he cheated on Elin Nordegren with multiple mistresses over a period of several years.
Your cheating husband or boyfriend may be one of these men, too.
Many Cheaters Have Multiple Affairs
Several years ago, I came across a study which found that 2/3 of the men who cheated on their mates had more than one affair. 25% of those men had 4 or more affairs.
My own research over the past 16 years bears that out.
Having interviewed or consulted with thousands cheating men from all walks of life during that time, I’ve found that most cheaters have more than one affair.
What About the Men Who Never Cheated Again?
But some cheating men, even men who previously had multiple affairs, reached a point where they never cheated again.
I wanted to find out why.
What kept certain cheating men from having more affairs?
Why was it that a small number of men never cheated again?
Why Some Cheaters Never Cheated Again
This is what I found out:
Cheaters become repeaters if they don’t suffer any negative consequences as a result of their infidelity.
The more negative consequences a cheater suffered because of his infidelity, the less likely he was to cheat again.
Why Tiger Woods and Other Cheaters Won’t Cheat Again
That’s why Tiger Woods, and other cheating men like him, are unlikely to ever cheat again.
Look at the sheer number and magnitude of negative consequences Tiger Woods has suffered because of his cheating.
Because of this, Tiger falls into the category of cheating men who will probably never cheat again.
Tiger’s marriage and family are hanging in the balance. His reputation has been ruined. His golf career is hold while he desperately tries to make amends to his wife and get his marriage back on track. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
